I had a brainstorm while working on the Android app, and came up with a great cosmetic upgrade.  I'll be revisiting the iPhone app when I'm done with the other two!

My first enhancement was identified within minutes of getting the iPhone version into the hands of my cubs (8-10 year olds) and their parents! Here I talk about some of the issues with upgrading a versioned database and another thing to watch out for...

My users are 8-10 year old kids and their parents.  Within minutes of getting the app into their hands, I have an enhancement that I need to do, in order for all of them to be able to use it.

In order to really get an in-depth understanding of mobile development, I've set myself a task of creating an app for a community I serve as a volunteer, on iPhone, Windows Phone and Android.

Many vendors and users today present their applications as being cloud-ready or cloud-aware, when what they are really saying is that you can install it on a cloud platform or virtual machine.  To really make an application cloud-enabled, you need to facilitate "on-demand, convenient, rapid provisioning that can be released with minimal management overhead or service provider involvement".  A virtual appliance, created using IBM ICCT is how you truly make your application cloud-enabled!

With IBM PureSystems, you get to deploy virtual appliances, individually or as groups, that are fully and expertly integrated, and that solve specific complex problems.

FusionWare can help you create a virtual appliance to truly cloud enable your applications.  For more information or to contact us, visit our website at

In this post we look at the steps to take our assembly from our other blog post and setup the security as you would typically do it for a production server.

SQL Server allows you to create assemblies written in C#, VB.NET or your favorite .NET language and turn them into stored procedures called CLR Procedures. You can call these from another stored procedure, or from a trigger, or from any place that a stored procedure can be accessed, making it a very powerful feature.

There are some stringent limitations on what these assemblies can reference as they need to operate in a sandboxed environment.

FusionWare has a special variation of the FusionWare mvLynxManaged Provider that does not reference any components that are not compatible with the sandboxed environment of SQL Server.

In this post we look at the steps to create a CLR stored procedure that writes to your MultiValue files.
