The FusionWare mvLynx Direct product family provides a number of ways to get access to your MultiValue data.  One of the places where MultiValue applications tend to have a significant and important investment is in their file dictionaries.  In addition to identifying the raw data in the file for reporting purposes, these often include complex formulas, and implicit "joins" of data from other files.

In this post we will look at how you can take advantage of these assets in building out your data access strategy.

Once you determine the command to access this data, it can be used from Java, .NET, COM/COM+. With the mvLynx managed provider, you can use this to create web services, ASP.NET forms and controls, WinForms, SilverLight, Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), SSIS scripts, Reporting Services reports and many other applications and solutions.

This is a follow up to a previous post that showed how to map the SALESORDER file with the mvLynx Direct Designer.

Mapping a MultiValued file is one way that FusionWare allows you to access your MultiValue data. Once this is done, you can use this data from applications written using .NET, COM/COM+ and Java, enabling you to do many things, including creating a Data Warehouse or Data Mart, Business Intelligence and Reporting, and Integration with applications and technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle and others, and create custom web sites, applications, mobile apps and more.

This article takes you through some example data, explains it in detail, then shows how you would map it and access the data using a mapped view from a Windows form control.

Fusionware mv2SQL enables rapid, cost effective creation and population of a data warehouse or data mart enabling consolidated BI deployment or other integration projects and has been our best selling product since we first released it.

At FusionWare we have just released our new mvLynx 2SQL product.  This product builds on the success of our mv2SQL product and adds additional capability and even greater ease of use.  Here are the new features and functionality that you can expect to see with this new version.

Please note that the mvLynx brand is new.  We've added the name mvLynx to many of our existing products, and use it to identify products that are specific to the MultiValue community.  Our dbLynx brand is for products that are targeted to our non-MultiValue customers.
