Swim Tracker was my 2nd App and I published it and it passed certification on the first pass.  That is where this story actually starts.  It was kinda useless.  No scratch that, it was definitely useless.  I mean it did what I intended but it fell down in some major ways. In this blog I walk through the process of "fixing it", aka "Making it Useful"!

The last few years have been interesting to say the least.  A number of developments that we have been anticipating have begun to take hold of the market, and a shakeup has resulted.  Actually, we had expected some of these things sooner, and others were different than we had expected, but that's the nature of the beast.

Here I outline a broad-brush of where we see ourselves going.

The first App I ever published to the Windows Phone Marketplace was a stopwatch.  After using the app for a little bit the phrase; “That’s pretty useful but what I REALLY need is…” came to mind.

After firing around some ideas with the guys, starting out with airplanes crashing, I settled on “Space Junk!”, a game about near misses.  I wanted a more original idea than our other games and currently the real space junk is a pretty hot topic.

After deciding to create a game for Windows Phone, I needed to come up with a way to make it “different”.  Lunar Landers have been done to death.  There were at least 6 “lander” games in the Windows Phone Marketplace and countless numbers for other platforms.
